Small Groups

Why join a Small Group?
The purpose of small group meetings is Christian fellowship (Koinonia). As the body of Christ, we are called to grow in genuine care for each other, to develop and invest in personal relationships as Jesus did with his disciples.
What is Koinonia? Koinonia is a Greek word that occurs 20 times in the Bible. Koinonia’s primary meaning is “fellowship, sharing in common, communion”. The first occurrence of Koinonia is found in Acts 2:42, “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” Christian fellowship is a key aspect of the Christian life. Believers in Christ are to come together in love, faith and encouragement. That is the essence of Koinonia. A powerful example of what Koinonia should look like can be found in the phrase “one another” throughout New Testament scripture. Scripture commands us to be devoted to one another, honor one another, live in harmony with one another, accept one another, and serve one another in love…. That is what true biblical Koinonia should look like.
Come along side other believers and join them in the “Christian faith walk”!
